Mafuyu Chapter 225: “Just Like My Brother” Eikichi approaches a lifeless Mafuyu facedown on the sand beside a broken board. All of a sudden, Mafuyu flips over and asks why Eikichi looks so beat up. He asks Eikichi for a smoke and Eikichi retorts why he doesn’t die already. Mafuyu marvels at Eileen and states he barely escaped with his life. He asks Eikichi is he looked cool and declares that he will continue chasing Eileen even when he is an old man, just like his brother, Kazuki. Machiruda, Ryuji and Alisha rushes towards Mafuyu and Alisha wonders if Kazuki was watching over his brother, protecting him. In the aftermath of Eileen, the weather in Shonan that day was unreasonably warm, attracting many wave talkers, filling the sea like a flock of birds. It was as if this summer like day was a gift to a young man to extol his love from the sea god. Sometime later, at Tsujido High, Eikichi marvels at Mafuyu’s achievement, envious that he doesn’t have a goal like Mafuyu. Ryuji teases Eikichi about switching to Mafuyu’s side and they spot Mafuyu, who exchanges smiles with Eikichi, before punching Eikichi in the face without warning. Eikichi tries to retaliate but steps in dog shit, much to everyone’s amusement. |

Sometime later, Eikichi calls the video store from a phone booth and admits to the operator that it’s his first time and would like some recommendations. The operator asks for Eikichi’s address but an embarrassed Eikichi refuses, preferring to meet with the delivery man at a nearby “Cafe Robin” by the station. Eikichi waits in the cafe under disguise and is shocked to find Mafuyu arrive as the delivery man. Despite Eikichi’s protest, Mafuyu reads out Eikichi’s order out loud to confirm and loudly thats Eikichi Onizuka from Tsujido High for his purchase as he leaves. |

Chapter 226: “The Ouija Murder 1” On a dark and stormy night at Tsujido High, a lone group of students consisting of Eikichi, Ryuji, Mafuyu, Saejima, Shinomi, Tsukai and Makoto begin carrying out their “plan” when the abominable tragedy began. The group huddles around an Ouija board as Makoto attempts to summon Pokkuri-san and Saejima chastise him for still believing in this stuff. A shadowy figure creeps up behind a spooked Saejima and reveals to be Katsuyuki, who takes off his drenched raincoat. He brings the group some food and confirms that they will be forced to stay at the school overnight, to Saejima’s surprise. Saejima declares that he is going home and Eikichi asks him if he’s just scared. The group laughs at Saejima and Katsuyuki provokes him further by telling him it’s more manly to admit his fear. They are interrupted by Mafuyu, who declares that he has finished building his robot model. Eikichi tells them to use Pokkuri-san to determine who is the strongest and Pokkuri-san reveals that the strongest man in Shonan is the mysterious Ohwada Baku. All of a sudden, the windows shatter and static is heard on the classroom loudspeaker. A shocked Makoto reveals that his arm is moving on its own, which spells out the sentence “You are all dead” on the Ouija board. Makoto states that they have angered Pokkuri-san and the group blames Saejima. An angry Saejima leaves, walking into the storm and Shinomi advises that this indeed seems like a night people are likely to die. Eikichi passes the time reading Kindaichi Case Files and Makoto tries multiple attempts to get a message from Pokkuri-san, without success. They are interrupted by a scream in the night, deducing that something happened to Saejima. The group notices a light on in the A/V room and rushes over, discovering the door to be locked from the inside. They knock down the door to find a bloody Saejima face down on the the table, blood dripping everywhere and a mysterious ancient mask beside his head. A frightened Makoto declares that it’s Pokkuri-san’s curse and Tsukai discovers that the phones are dead. As the group panics on the likelihood of their death, Eikichi starts to laugh and states that he has solved the murder, with the killer being in the very room. |

Chapter 227: “The Ouija Murder 2” Eikichi declares that the scene before them is not a curse but a murder, with the killer in the very room, to everyone’s surprise except Mafuyu, who continues to build his robots. Tsukai suspects Katsuyuki, pointing out that he told Saejima to go off and die moments before. Ryuji calms down the angered Katsuyuki and reminds Tsukai that he also has a motive for murder, from getting into a fight with Saejima over debt money days before. As the bickering continues, Shinomi tells them off for acting childlish and declares that she is leaving. A smirking Katsuyuki points out that Shinomi also had a motive as Saejima stole her skirt and masterbated over it. First time hearing about it, an angered Shinomi tries to attack Saejima and is held back by Katsuyuki. Makoto asks Eikichi what makes the case a murder and reiterates that everyone was in the other room when they all heard the scream. The room was also locked, making it a locked room case. Eikichi states that it wasn’t locked and reveals a small opening in the wall, deducing that the culprit hid there after luring Saejima. Eikichi slowly reveals the murderer’s plan, luring Saejima onto a rigged chair and pulling wires to make Saejima fall to make it look like an accident. The mysterious mask was placed to add to Pokkuri-san’s effect. As the other’s debate the unlikelihood of the scenario, Eikichi asks Shinomi (addressing her as Miyuki from Kindaichi Case Files) to go to the other classroom and scream. Due to the distance between the two rooms, Eikichi deduces that they couldn’t possibly hear the scream, stating that the scream came pre-recorded from the speakers instead. The only person who could’ve had access to the recording was the one who left the room pretending to chase after Saejima. Eikichi points his finger at Makoto, who denies the claim, stating that it is impossible to lure someone into locked room onto a specific chair. A smiling Eikichi reveals that it is possible and inserts a VHS into the TV, revealing a porn film. He states that the culprit left the VHS in plain view for Saejima to see. Upon seeing the cover, Eikichi remembers previously watching the VHS in which he borrowed off Makoto. Makoto continues to deny being the culprit and they hear Shinomi’s scream in the distance, to everyone’s surprise. Tsukai inspects the blood and realises that it’s ketchup. All of a sudden, Saejima wakes up and reveals that he was eating a hot dog while trying to reach for the VHS and slipped. Wondering why everyone is gathered in the room, he states he took the video off Makoto and hid it in the room so he can access it later at his own leisure. Katsuyuki asks Eikichi if he should apologise to Makoto, who has been silent for a while. A stuttering Eikichi hugs Makoto and states that he has been reading too much manga. An angry Makoto grabs a knife, stating that he should really murder someone tonight as Eikichi protests that the whole thing was a joke. |

Later at work, Mrs. Onizuka contemplates with her friend, Miki, whether she should kick Eikichi out. She is convinced by Miki that Eikichi is still a child and should be forgiven. However, upon arriving home, she spots Ryoko’s son, Takashi, being forced to bungy jump off the balcony by Eikichi and Ryuji as revenge for Ryoko giving Mrs. Onizuka a hard time earlier. As a result, she kicks Eikichi and Ryuji out for real and dumps their belongings into the hallway. As a surprised Eikichi tries to get back in, Mrs. Onizuka slips out a sheet of paper with information about Eikichi’s new home that she has organised: Room 505 at Chateau de Riverside Studio. As Eikichi tries to attack Ryuji, they are interrupted by a sensual moan from the next room and they both press their ears onto the wall. They notice a hole on the wall where the human shaped stain is located and deduce that the stain must be caused by a man peeking into the next room and pressing his body against the wall for long periods of time. As they two friends fight over the hole, Eikichi spots a woman with long hair who appears to be pleasuring herself. The moaning stops and they blame each other for making too much noise. The next morning, the two contemplate on their neighbour’s looks and deduce that she must be ugly or old due to the fact that she lives in such a rundown place. They are interrupted by some footsteps and rush to the door to get a better look at their neighbour. The owner puts Eikichi down on his “peeping” customer list and Eikichi unconvincingly states that the goggles are for birdwatching. Unable to afford the price tag, the pair leave and are interrupted by Katsuyuki, who spots the goggle pamphlet Eikichi drops. Katsuyuki wonders if they are using it for peeping and Eikichi brushes off his suspicions, stating that he is using it to defeat the Emperors of Darkness, a gang who attacks from the darkness and had a previous run in with the Oni-baku. Eikichi claims that they managed to defeat the gang using just their ears and their guts and bought the goggles in case they are attacked again. He reveals that the Emperors of Darkness were also wearing the Russian night vision goggles to attack their victims. He warns Katsuyuki to watch out for the gang as Ryuji listens in disbelief. The next day at Tsujido High, Eikichi reiterates to Ryuji his astonishment that Katsuyuki actually believed his story. Ryuji is worried that Katsuyuki might go and do something stupid. They are interrupted by a bloodied Katsuyuki and Atsushi, each with a pair of goggles. Butai confront a motorcycle gang and Katsuyuki provokes the leader. The leader laughs at the Oni-baku’s goggles and the Oni-baku contemplate on what to do. They decide to go home and leave the K. T. He proceeds to go inform Katsuyuki of their departure and Ryuji gets attacked by a bike, which narrowly misses. Eikichi attempts to stop Ryuji from fighting, stating that it’s hard to stop Ryuji once angered. They are interrupted by the police and one of the officers knock Eikichi on the head, smashing his goggles to bits. An angry Eikichi starts pounding the officer relentlessly. They are apprehended and brought into the police station, who forces the Oni-baku to write down names of everyone involved in the fight. Eikichi asks the officer for a screwdriver to fix his goggles, much to the officer’s frustration. Mrs. Onizuka walks in and Eikichi is happy to see her come to his aid. Mrs. Onizuka takes one look at Eikichi and states that he isn’t her son and leaves. The officers charge Eikichi for supplying a false name. Eikichi states that Ryuji used Tamara’s name without hesitation and Ryuji asserts that there would be an all out war with Enoshima if Nakajo finds out. The principal warned them not to get into anymore trouble and announces that the police have arrived to arrest them. The police arrive but realise that Nakajo and Tamura aren’t the ones who escape from the station earlier. Sometime later, Nakajo gathers his men and orders them to meet at Tsujido High. He tells Tamura that they will get some serious revenge on the Oni-baku for using their name.
