Chapter 148: "Lost Bonds" The Music Master searches for Kamata and Kaoru proceeds to tell the Oni-baku Gumi about the night that changed Natsu and Kamata forever four years ago. Kaoru and Kamata used to lived in Honmoku and Natsu lived next door. Natsu was quiet, didn't have friends and often pass the time staring through the fence plucking at his bass with a bent neck. Kamata started talking to Natsu, half out of pity and the two quickly became close friends. Using a broken radio as their amp, Kamata would play his guitar over Natsu's bass and Natsu's sister would sing. One day, Natsu and Kamata spoke of the “American Dream” and decided to go to L. A. one day to start a band and live together. They are interrupted by Natsu's sister, who presents them new guitars as gifts. Looking through the fence out to sea, the three of them would jam together. Sometime later, Natsu's sister thanks Kamata for helping Natsu become a better person and kisses him. That was the last time they saw her smile. One night, Natsu's sister failed to come home after shopping and the two friends head out to look for her. They spot her just fifty feet from their home, where she was gang raped. The next day, she committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. Afterwards, Natsu tells Kamata that he plans to kill the gang that raped his sister and they will run away to America together. Kaoru saw Kamata, only twelve years old at the time, come home shaking and Kamata made his decision on the last minute. Kamata brought some adults to the place they were suppose to meet down by the docks and came across a horrifying sight – dead bodies lying around in pools of blood with Natsu in the middle like a ghost, with a bloody knife in his hands. Natsu asks Kamata what took him so long and that they made a promise. He notices the adults and a tearful Natsu declares that he trusted Kamata. He yells out "Traitor" as he is subdued by the adults. Sometime later, the Honmoku house gets torn down and the Kamatas move to Kamakura and Natsu gets taken to hospital. Kamata had regretted his decision and never touched his guitar again. He would get into fight after fight as if he was trying to hurt himself, earning the title "Mad Dog". Back in the present, Kamata spots the Yokohama Calvary. We cut back to Kaoru, who begs Eikichi to help Kamata. Despite Saejima's protest, Eikichi states that he doesn't want to be involved as Kamata wanted to do this alone. Elsewhere, the Yokohama Calvary informs Nakagaki that there is a strong attacker demanding to see the leader. The two leaders step outside and upon seeing Kamata, they tell each other that they have an idea to take out both Natsu and Shonan at once. |

Chapter 149: "A Clean Break" As the Yokohama Calvary surrounds Kamata, Nakagaki takes of his jacket and prepares to fight. Kamata charges at Nakagaki with a punch and Nakagaki retaliates by shocking Kamata with a 80,000V taser. Kamata falls to the ground and states that Nakagaki is dirty. Nakagaki stomps on Kamata's arm and takes out a Tequila-filled syringe to make Kamata too drunk to move. He reveals that they will use Kamata as bait to take down Natsu and the Oni-baku. Elsewhere, the Music Master spots a Steed and enters a bar to find Natsu. He informs Natsu of Kamata's situation with the police and the Yokohama Calvary and begs Natsu to save his friend. A cold Natsu declares that he doesn't have any friends. They are interrupted by two Yokohama Calvary mobsters, who tell Natsu his friend wants to see him. The Music Master rushes outside and sees a half-conscious Kamata and the Yokohama Calvary on the roof of a building. Nakagaki threatens that they will make it look like a drunken accident and tells Natsu to come on the roof if he wants Kamata and his bass back. To everyone's surprise, Natsu attacks the Yokohama mobster and tells Nakagaki to kill Kamata if he wants to. He doesn't care about his bass and tells them to take down Shonan if they want, it will only allow him to take his time killing the Yokohama Calvary leaders afterwards. Nakagaki drops Kamata and Natsu turns his back and walks off. A surprised Nakagaki catches Kamata and states that it has gotten interesting. They leave and he reminds himself that the execution goods have arrived anyway. Elsewhere, Tsukai spots the Yokohama Calvary riding by and goes to inform Eikichi that Kamata has been kidnapped. In a restaurant, a Yakuza named Michida offers Nakagaki a job in the Yakuza and Nakagaki declines, stating that he's not done having fun. Michida hands Nakagaki a package and asks Nakagaki what he plans on using it for as he is concerned that it might track itself back to him. Nakagaki reassures Michida and tells him that it's nothing special, just a spat between some kids. |

He remembers Masaki's words, telling him that he wears the jacket not to take over the world but simply because he loved his friends and loved the Shonan. Eikichi states that with the ZII, he can't lose. As Eikichi rides off, Sato asks Midoji if it is alright to let Eikichi go alone and Midoji states that Eikichi understands Masaki's feelings and why Masaki gave Eikichi the jacket. Nakagaki's men state that they will get interrupted by the police and Nakagaki explains that they chose the warehouse district so the police won't expect anything to occur. The two Yokohama Calvary leaders go through their strategy with their men, explaining that there are two gates that serve as the only entrance to the warehouse district. With thirty men at each entrance, the Oni-baku will enter through one of the gates and their men will lure them in by pretending to pull back. The men from the other gate, along with men throughout the district will ambush the Oni-baku from behind and the Yokohama Calvary leaders will kill the Oni-baku, staging it as a drunken car accident. They are interrupted by calls for help at both gates via radio transmission, whom they lose contact with. The surprised leader demands to know how many Shonan bikers there are, saying that it is impossible for their men stationed along the routes to the district to miss such a large group. The Oni-baku declares through the radio to the shocked leaders that it is just the two of them, as promised. The Oni-baku advance as the Yokohama Calvary mobsters begins to retreat. The leaders state that they have a change of plan – instead of giving the Oni-baku a quick death they will now slice and dice them up, just like Natsu. |
