Chapter 90: "Pure Love Declaration!!" News of Takezawa's retirement spreads amongst the Hiratsuka gangs. Takezawa wakes up at the hospital and is greeted by Shinomi, who tells him that the Idaten gang has become unstable after he left. He asks her why she is here when he fixed it so she can be with Eikichi and Shinomi tells him she wanted to stay with him. Shinomi asks him if there is anything he wants and he replies that a kiss is all he wants for now. She smiles and they kiss. Elsewhere on the beach, Ryuji tells Eikichi that he'll lose Shinomi and Eikichi states that it doesn't matter. The next morning, Shinomi leaves home early to cook breakfast for Takezawa. She arrives at his hospital room only to find an empty bed. The nurse informs her that Takezawa was discharged earlier and went to Tokyo for a job. She notices a note on the bed, in which Takezawa writes "Get more serious with your life". Elsewhere, Nakai reminds Takezawa that he's leaving the gang behind. Takezawa states that he knows and they drive off. We cut back to Shinomi, who starts to cry and asks herself why every guy that she goes for have to be so damn good. She is watched from the doorway by Eikichi, who walks away and tells Ryuji to forget about visiting Takezawa. That night at an Idaten rally, the Oni-baku wonder who the new Idaten gang leader is. They are interrupted by Makoto, who brings them to Shinomi beating up a guy who tried to pick her up. Eikichi tells her that he is always fixing up the trouble she causes and she tells him that she doesn't need him coming around. She mocks his manhood and runs off, with Eikichi chasing after her. As Ryuji and Ryuji try to hold Eikichi back, Shinomi smiles and tells herself that someday she is going to be so cool that she'll turn Eikichi around and become his love. She still wears the keychain Eikichi gave her, with the engraved words scratched out.
Chapter 91: "The Horrifying Summer" Ryuji stops by the beach alone and surmises that he will be alone this summer. He spots a shining light in the middle of the ocean and rushes down. He sees a girl out at sea alone in the dark and rushes out to save her. He notices tears in her eyes and pulls her to shore, chiding her for trying to kill herself. She tells Ryuji that he is just a man, like the one she loved who betrayed her and broke her heart. Ryuji tells her that guys fall in love too and he recently had his heart broken just four months ago. He states that despite what he felt in the past, he's now just glad to be able to know someone like Ayumi. He tells the girl that he will take her home and she comments on his sweetness, the kind of guy that might be worth staying alive for. She asks Ryuji to meet her at this same spot again tomorrow and states that she thinks he's the type she's looking for. She introduces herself as Reiko. The next day at school, Eikichi complains about the summer heat and tells Katsuyuki that they should be out looking for girls. They are greeted by Shinomi, who mocks Eikichi about his manhood. They are interrupted by a happy Ryuji, who enters the classroom and reveals to everyone that he has a girlfriend. Eikichi doesn't believe the news and Ryuji tells everyone to come down to the seaside tomorrow so they can see his cute girlfriend. Later, an angry Eikichi states to Kamata, Katsuyuki and Saegusa that there is no way that Ryuji can get a girlfriend so quickly. Elsewhere out at sea, Ryuji and Reiko have fun in the water and Reiko expresses her concern on how Ryuji wanted to introduce her to his friends. Reiko jumps on Ryuji's back and he carries her to shore. At the beach, Eikichi, Katsuyuki and Saegusa wait for Ryuji and they notice a crowd gathering near the water, stating that they see a guy dragging a corpse to shore. To their horror, they see Ryuji carrying a corpse on his back, who introduces it as his girlfriend Reiko. And so, this would go on to be called the "unbelievable incident" by Eikichi.
Eikichi & Ryuji Chapter 92: "The Long, Long Summer Begins (Part 1)" Summer has arrived in Shonan and the Oni-baku apply for a part time job at a seaside restaurant, Marine House Shonan, in order to stay close to the beach and see girls. As they slave over the grill making fried squid and octopus, they complain about missing out on the girls on the beach. Eikichi accidentally spills food all over a customer and gets scolded by his boss. Eikichi declares that he can't take it anymore and Ryuji tries to calm him down. Ryuji hears a laugh and spots a cute girl in a shirt with "Dolphin" written across and a g-string, named Nagisa. She leaves and Ryuji remains speechless. Later (they got fired), Ryuji tells Eikichi about the girl he saw and they overhear some guys talking about a new cafe called Dolphins, where all the waitresses wear g-strings. The duo arrives at the cafe and is stunned by the waitresses. Ryuji recognises Nagisa as the girl from before and she apologises for laughing earlier. She tells them that they are funny and walks off. They are interrupted by two Yakuza causing trouble, stating that Nagisa owes them and drags her away. Despite Eikichi's protest, Ryuji gets up and chases after the two Yakuza men. He notices an accident up ahead and sees the two Yakuza men on the ground, appearing to have been hit by the car. He spots Nagisa in the crowd and notices a tattoo behind her left shoulder. Ryuji tells her to wait as she rides off on her bike and a surprised Ryuji recognises a "Midnight Angel" sticker on her bike.
Nagase Nagisa Chapter 93: "The Long, Long Summer Begins (Part 2)" Eikichi catches up to Ryuji, who tries to make sense of what just happened. He wonders who she is and questions why she would have a "Midnight Angel" sticker. Elsewhere, Katsuyuki shows off his newly fixed bike to Yasuo and Atsushi. Katsuyuki asks Atsushi why he called him out and Atsushi tells him an incident that happened when he went to Elsa in Fujisawa with Yasuo. He tells Katsuyuki how they overheard a group of Enoshima High guys badmouthing the K. T. Butai. He warns Katsuyuki to be careful, who slaps his K. T. Butai sticker onto his bike and declares that he is ready for action anytime and they head off for drinks. Later, they spot a group of Enoshima High students around Katsuyuki's bike and overhears them mocking the bike and its owner. An angry Katsuyuki breaks a glass bottle and declares that the next person to touch his bike gets it. One of the Enoshima High boys grabs Katsuyuki, who retaliates with a smash to the head and declares that no one makes fun of the K. T. Butai. As one of the Enoshima High guys recognise Katsuyuki as one of their Tsujido targets, they are interrupted by Kamata and Abe. Kamata states that its been a while since he last saw Tamura and surmises that the Enoshima gang still attacks in numbers. Tamura declares that he is leaving and tells his friends to pick up Toshimitsu, the guy that got knocked down by Katsuyuki. Katsuyuki asks Tamura why he is running off already and Tamura tells him that his time will come. As he leaves, he tells Kamata that anyone who backs up the Oni-baku will go down as soon as they inform their chief. At the Dolphin Cafe, Ryuji watches Nagisa and states that he will find out who she is.
Chapter 94: "Premonitions" Tamura tells the Tsujido High boys to ready themselves for his chief and leaves. Katsuyuki states that he could've taken the entire Enoshima High guys by himself and receives a punch in the face by Kamata, who tells him that he would've been hospitalised if Kamata didn't arrive. Kamata reveals to them about special commander Tamura Akimitsu and the Kamakura Massacre Unit. Katsuyuki stays silent as Yasuo and Atsushi express their relief for the close call. At the Dolphin Cafe, Nagisa apologises to Ryuji for disappearing so suddenly the day before. As she continues serving customers, Ryuji thinks over telling Eikichi about Nagisa's "hannya" tattoo and seeing her ride a black Eliminator. He thinks back to the two Yakuza's accident and is suspicious of Nagisa causing the accident. He approaches Nagisa and asks her to inspect her shoulder. He rips off her top, revealing no tattoo behind her shoulder and an angry Nagisa slaps him in the face, calling him a pervert. A confused Ryuji runs off, asking himself who the tattoo girl he saw was if it wasn't Nagisa. Elsewhere on the train, Katsuyuki, Yasuo and Atsushi head home. Katsuyuki notices an Enoshima student staring him down and knocks him to the ground, declaring that he will take down every Enoshima High guy on his own if he has too. The trio get off at Fujisawa Station and are spied on by an Enoshima High student with a scar on his face. Later, Ryuji expresses his worry about Nagisa to Eikichi and states that the sticker he saw is definitely the seal of the old Midnight Angel gang. Tsukai tells a surprised Ryuji that he also saw a good-looking girl in a warrior's uniform riding an Eliminator 750 with that same sticker. At school, Kitamura asks Tsukai about Midnight Angel gang and Tsukai tells everyone about the legendary that started with the first leader, Masaki and about ten friends. However, the gang grew, recruiting new members and by the time it changed leadership, it was the scariest gang in all of Kanagawa, having up to 400 troops. They were so big that their rallies along Kaiwan Dori lasted for hours. However, internal conflict separated the gang into three, resulting in the "Great Shonan War". The three leaders were Masaki's successor, Akutsu Junya; the Inamura Division chief, Kamishima Toshiki; the Enoshima's faction, Nakajo Kunito. After a month of fighting, it ended with the Enoshima Gate incident, in which Akutsu and Kamishima clashed with one another and Akutsu tried to torch Kamishima, who was hospitalised. In the end, Masaki came out to declare that the whole thing was over. A third generation Midnight Angel tried to resurface and were taken down by the Oni-baku, ending the Midnight Angel legend. Tsukai asks Kitamura why he wanted to know about the gang, who replies that his friend, Mitsui Mamoru from Hiratsuka PS 3 was part of the ten Idaten gang members that got ambushed and all that he could mutter was "Midnigh Angel" over and over again. They are interrupted by the Oni-baku, who asks Kitamura to tell them the whole story. Elsewhere at the station, Katsuyuki takes down a group of Enoshima High guys with ease, despite objections from Yasuo and Saegusa, who reminds him that Eikichi told them to lay off Enoshima High because of Nakajo. Katsuyuki states he doesn't care and receives a surprise kick to the face from the Enoshima High guy with the scar. Katsuyuki asks if he is Nakajo, who laughs it off, stating he isn't. Katsuyuki challenges him to a fight and the Enoshima High guy jumps onto the train tracks, challenging Katsuyuki to come down. As the train approaches, Katsuyuki jumps onto the tracks. The train moves closer and Katsuyuki jumps back onto the platform, while the Enoshima High guy stands firm. Kitamura confronts Mitsui, who declares that he doesn't know things that he shouldn't know and that it doesn't pay to see something you shouldn't see. As they leave, Eikichi states that it sounds like someone is trying to hide something. Ryuji states that he has a bad feeling about this and the duo surmise that they can't let Midnight Angel take over again as a bloodbath is likely to follow. Later, a lone Ryuji thinks over the tattoo girl and the Idaten incident. He is interrupted by the tattoo girl on the Eliminator. She states she heard that Ryuji is looking for her and that it is an honour to be pursued by someone who helped take down the third generation Midnight Angel and put the old boy Okubo in his place. She tells him that the Midnight Angel was taken down but is not completely dead and that he will soon know what Midnight Angel really is. She introduces herself as Yasha, the female demon and warns Ryuji to watch himself. She rides off and a shocked Ryuji recognises her Midnight Angel tropper coat. Ryuji jumps on his bike to chase after Yasha. They are approached by an incoming truck and Yasha slides underneath it and escapes, while the truck crashes. As Ryuji tries to find Yasha, he realises that the coat was definitely not a fake. He spots Nagisa crossing the road and nearly crashes into her.
