A half-American, half Japanese son of a policeman& a drunk, he grew up a quiet child, didn't have any friends & was seen as a weirdo. He lived in Honmoku with his older sister, Fuyuka & often passes the time staring through the fence plucking at his bass with a bent neck. His next door neighbour, Kamata started talking to him & they quickly became close friends. Using a broken radio as their amp, Kamata would play guitar over his bass & Fuyuka would sing. He often spoke to Kamata about the "American Dream", in which they would go to L. A. & start a band. Fuyuka gave them new guitars to support their dream.
One night, Fuyuka failed to come home after shopping & he went looking for her with Kamata. They found her just 50 feet from their home, raped by a gang. Fuyuka committed suicide by jumping in front of a train the next day. He plans to kill Fuyuka's attackers & escape to America with Kamata. He went & slaughtered the gang but a cold-feeted Kamata arrives with some adults to stop him. He calls Kamata a traitor as he is taken away.
Over the following years, he brutally beats down all that oppose him. He later continues music, joining the rock band, Vebejail. Even after joining, he was seen as a loner, not really knowing anyone. In his first meeting, he beat down a Vebejail member for touching his violin bass without asking. The Vebejail member later committed suicide, rumoured to have seen the death in Natsu's eyes.
The band saw his true colors at the "Lawless Demon" gig, a wild night. During the show, rampaging fans rushed up onto the stage, resulting in a massive brawl. During the brawl, a smiling Natsu raised his bass guitar & smashed it down on the head on one of his own band members, killing him. Bad things happened in his presence & he was labelled the title Death Demon. He was forced to leave the band because no one wanted to be around him.
Fearing for their lives, some of the band members hired a mob, the Yokohama Calvary, to take out Natsu, known as the "Death Contract". Natsu was targetted by 18 hit artists, who initially played around with him. However, he turned the tables & took them out one by one, grinning throughout the entire kills, until only 3 remain. He gets run over but is seemingly unaffected. Scared, the mobsters accelerate the car & plunges into the ocean along with Natsu. Of the 18 hit artists, only Mauchi & Nakagaki survive, although severely scarred & Natsu is presumed dead.
4 years after Fuyuka's death, he is spotted by Kamata, who happens to be riding through Yokohama. He begins hunting down ex-Vebejail members & pushes one off the top a building. He gets confronted by Kamata but stays silent & rides off. He continues his search for more ex-Vebejail members & beats down a whole room full of them. He chases an escapee through the streets & gets confronted by Eikichi. He fights Eikichi to the death, who can't hold back after seeing his eyes.
They are interrupted by the police, who stops the fight & Natsu is confronted by Kamata. He tells Kamata to get out of the way, declaring that the nightmare from that night is still unfinished. He later finds Mauchi & Nakagaki, who ambushed Ryuji's bus in their attempt to take over Shonan. He gets caught up in the fight between the Shonan & Yokohama gangs. He escapes after the police arrive, reassuring Eikichi that he has nothing against Kamata & comments on their nice friendship.
He gets lured out by the Yokohama Calvary, who kidnaps Kamata, seeing it as a chance to take out Natsu as well as the Oni-baku. He surprises the Yokohama Calvary by stating that he doesn't have any friends & leaves. He later arrives to save Kamata, revealing that a Death Demon can't have any friends as anyone near him dies. He reveals that he never once forgot about Kamata & the two former friends smile. He is shot from behind by Nakagaki as he helps Kamata up.
With his final breath, he reveals to Kamata about their promise of going to America & that his father used to be a jazz drummer & left his dream in America, forgetting to take it with him. He asks Kamata to come with him to America to search for their dream. He dies of his wounds as he remembers the old days, telling Kamata that he was his only friend. Kamata finds a chequebook for the "American Dream" account in which Natsu had been putting in money over the years. Kamata plays their song at Natsu's grave & goes to America to honor the promise he made.
