Eikichi, Ryuji, Saejima, Kamata, Abe, Tsukai & Makoto Chapter 54: "A Man Named Okubo" In Kyokuto High's corridors, whispers reveal that there are still enemies of the Oni-baku despite Fumiya's arrest. At Tsujido High, class 1-C congratulate the Oni-baku on their victory over Kyokuto High. Despite all the commotion, Ryuji is busy reading the Daily An, a job magazine, to Makoto's surprise. He notices Eikichi also staring into space and proposes that they visit Kyokuto High. The Oni-baku state that they have no reason to go there but Makoto reveals that there are three female schools near there: Tsujido P. S. 3 for Girls, Enkan Institute Girls High School and Hakuhama Women's University Girl's High School. An excited Eikichi prepares to leave and we discover Makoto's motive, which is to gain fame in Kyokuto High via the Oni-baku. However, Ryuji declines, saying he is busy and leaves. Makoto questions Ryuji's odd behaviour and Eikichi states he should be left alone as it is an important time for him. At Kyokuto High, a group of third years express their anger at some second years for losing to the Oni-baku and ruining their reputation. They warn the second years, one of them being Asakura Yoshiaki (previously an underling of Fumiya), to stop stirring trouble with the Oni-baku. Later, the second years contemplate on what can be done and Asakura is determined to bring the Oni-baku down. He proposes that he knows someone who can help them, someone even the Oni-baku is scared of. He names the man Okubo Mitsuaki, a rumoured murderer that recently got released from jail. His friends beg him not to get involved with Okubo but Asakura is determined. They are overheard by another Kyokuto High student. The eavesdropper, revealed to be a third year named Ishihara Yaeyama, rushes towards a cafe to inform Otsupo and the other third years about the second year's plans. They are interrupted by Eikichi and Makoto and Eikichi states that he wants to talk to them. Elsewhere, despite his friend's pleads, Asakura and the other second years arrive at Okubo's house. |

However, Okubo changes his mind when Asakura mentions the Oni-baku and welcomes the second years into his house. At the shopping centre, Ayumi reveals to Mariko that she's getting married to Ryuji but she wants to wait until Ryuji graduates. She surmises that Ayumi is finally able to forget and congratulates her. Ayumi goes to meet Ryuji, who tells her he wants to quit school to find a job. Ryuji quickly rushes off to a job interview before Ayumi has a chance to say anything. They are overheard by Itou and Tsukai, who are surprised by the news. At the cafe, Otsupo and the other Kyokuto third years apologise to Eikichi for what the second years did and promises to keep them in line. Eikichi and Makoto get up to leave and Otsupo warns them that Asakura is still trying to find a way to get back at them. He reveals that Eikichi could get killed and that Okubo is involved. We cut back to Asakura, who tells Okubo about the Oni-baku and offers to pay him 30,000¥. An angry Okubo demands more and a petrified Asakura opens his wallet to get more money. Okubo catches a glimpse of a photo of Asakura's girlfriend in the wallet and states that he wants her for one night as payment. Asakura refuses and Okubo smashes the table, telling Okubo not to mess around with him. That night, Okubo rapes Asakura's girlfriend, Natsumi, inside her room. Asakura stands outside the house listening to her screams and cries. He apologises to her and his friends remind him that he's been with Natsumi for two years and that he shouldn't get involved with Okubo. Asakura tells them he can't turn back now and Okubo steps out. He demands 1,000,000¥ from Asakura to take out the Oni-baku and Asakura protests, saying that he already gave him Natsumi. He tells the group that if they don't pay, they die as a car nearly crashes into Okubo. The angry driver gets out of the car and Okubo grabs his face and smashes it onto the ground. He tells the second years that they will end up like the driver if they don't pay up. At school, a worried EIkichi remembers Otsupo's words. |
