Chapter 36: "Shonan Love Story 4 - Poor Lonely Hearts" At another restaurant, Kaoru is impressed with Makoto's interesting conversation topics. Ryuji cuts in and Kaoru dismisses his topics to be boring. She gets up to go to the restroom and Ryuji, Eikichi and Saejima jump on Makoto, beating him up. In the restroom, Kaoru is confronted by Kamata, who threatens that he will reveal her secret. She screams for help and Ryuji, Eikichi and Saejima rush in to beat him down. Kamata reveals that Kaoru is his sister and to his surprise, the others are even more attracted to her as she is half foreign, half Japanese. They finish beating Kamata and leave with Kaoru. With only three left, the trio surmise that it is time to eliminate another person. Ryuji confidently tells Saejima the Oni-baku will take him out next. To his surprise, he receives a punch in the face from Eikichi, who explains that he doesn't want the final battle to be between himself and Ryuji. Elsewhere, Itou chides herself for being an idiot and only liking guys that never like her. She asks herself is there any guy that likes her and Tsukai tells her that he does. However, she scolds him for joking around and that her heart is already broken. They are interrupted by two guys from Kyokuto High, the Oni-baku's old school, who picks a fight with Tsukai. Elsewhere, Eikichi and Saejima take every opportunity to fight each other whenever Kaoru isn't looking. She turns around to see a beat up Eikichi, which Saejima buried in the ground out of view. We cut back to Tsukai, who gets pounded by the Kyokuto High guys. Itou asks herself why Tsukai is fighting them while he could've just told them he knows Eikichi. |

Chapter 37: "Shonan Love Story 5 - Until the Memory Fades" No longer able to see Tsukai getting pounded, Itou reveals to the Kyokuto High guys that she knows the Oni-baku and tells them to back off. Tsukai declares that he doesn't want to win using the Oni-baku's name, stating that it's not the kind of victory he wants. He chides himself for not being able to do anything on his own but Itou tells him that he risked his life to protect her even though she's not his girlfriend. They are interrupted by Eikichi and Kaoru. Itou sees them and proclaims that she never wants to see Eikichi again and runs off. Tsukai reveals to a surprised Eikichi that Itou likes him and that he is very disappointed in Eikichi. Back at school, the rest of the gang asks Eikichi about his fight with Tsukai. He turns his back and Ryuji tells him that Itou is absent from school. Eikichi tells Ryuji that he needs a favour from him. In the hallways, Tsukai is confronted by Eikichi, who tells him to follow him to the rooftop. Tsukai tells Eikichi that he likes hanging around him but he won't forgive Eikichi for hurting Itou and that he won't forgive himself if he can't beat the guy who hurt the girl he likes. He challenges Eikichi to a one-on-one fight, who agrees. They begin exchanging blows. At home, a depressed Itou is surprised to see a wallet thrown into her window. She looks outside and sees Ryuji, who tells her that the wallet belongs to Tsukai. She looks inside and sees her photo. Back at the rooftop, the fight continues with Tsukai refusing defeat. We cut back to Itou, who rushes out of the house. |

Tsukai, Eikichi & Itou Chapter 38: "Shonan Love Story 6 - Thank You" As Itou runs towards the school, she thinks back on what Ryuji had told her, how Tsukai liked her all along. He told her that Eikichi and Tsukai are fighting and she should go see Tsukai becoming a man. On the rooftop, Tsukai continues to get back up after getting beaten down. On the train, Itou chides herself for relying on Tsukai too much and not recognising his feelings. Back at the fight, Tsukai gets knocked down for good. Eikichi tells him that he had to get serious and tells him that he was impressed. He walks away and bids Tsukai good luck. A little while later, Itou arrives and sees Tsukai on the ground. Tsukai asks her how she knew where he was and she apologises for not arriving in time. Tsukai reflects on how he had no chance against Eikichi. Back at her house, Itou proceeds to fix up Tsukai's wounds and he tells her he can see why she likes Eikichi so much. In turn, she tells him that she use to be shallow, liking a guy for his looks but now she begins to see a guy's inner qualities. Despite being bruised and beaten, she tells Tsukai that he looks cool and hands him back his wallet. She reveals to him that it was Eikichi's doing and Tsukai finally realises that Eikichi had known about his feelings all along. Itou then hugs a stunned Tsukai and thanks him for everything. He tries to grab her and she gets up to leave, jokingly stating that he might lose control. At school, Ryuji greets Tsukai and comments on his bravery. Eikichi walks by and hugs Tsukai, commenting that Tsukai may be stronger than Seajima, which angers Saejima. Itou brings sandwiches and forces everyone to eat it as Tsukai reflects on how after all of this, his relationship with Itou is still the same. He doesn't know how she feels but he feels that they are closer than before. |

Chapter 39: "Kaoru's Secret" At school, Makoto asks Eikichi why he hasn't been seeing Kaoru. Eikichi replies that he wants to become a man and not chase after girls anymore. They are interrupted by Kaoru, who invites Eikichi over to her house, saying that no one's home. Eikichi happily agrees, contradicting what he has just told Makoto. On the rooftop, Kamata is confronted by Saejima, Abe and Ryuji, who asks Kamata about Kaoru. Kamata reveals to them that she has an embarrassing secret. At Kaoru's apartment, Eikichi surmises how lucky Kamata is for having a sister, thinking about how he could watch her undress and shower. His daydream is interrupted by Kaoru, who says that she dislikes fighters. Eikichi tells her that he is weak and she appears to be happy with the fact that Eikichi is weaker than her brother. She goes to take a shower while Eikichi takes out a condom, declaring that he will finally be able to use it. He is spied on by Kaoru, who tells herself that its time she gets into business. Back on the rooftop, Saejima, Abe and Ryuji are stunned to find out that Kaoru is actually Kamata's younger brother. Kamata reveals that Kaoru was always mistaken for a girl as a child and was constantly bullied. Kamata taught him how to fight and as he grew up, would dress as a girl to lure guys back to his place and reappear as himself to beat them up for messing with his sister (known as the Pretty Pincher scam). Kamata expresses his embarrassment for having a cross-dressing brother and is stunned to find out from Makoto that Kaoru has invited Eikichi home. Back at the apartment, Kaoru, now dressed as a guy barges in to beat up EIkichi. A panicking Kamata rushes home, only to find Kaoru beaten up. Still unaware, Eikichi continues to wait for Kaoru to come out of the shower. Later, Kaoru tells Kamata that he is impressed with Eikichi. From then on, he stops performing that scam. Three days later, Kamata, Saejima and Ryuji discuss how Eikichi still doesn't know about Kaoru. They are surprised to see Eikichi on a date with Kaoru (now dressed as a girl). As Saejima and Ryuji pull Eikichi away, Kaoru confesses to Kamata that he can't help but dress as a girl whenever he sees Eikichi. This was his first love. |

Chapter 40: "Just One More Time" In Mariko's class, Ryuji wonders what Ayumi has been up to in the past two months. Later, Makoto presents to Eikichi tickets to the grand opening of Jaharama, the famous disco from Roppongi and Yokohama. Makoto promises plenty of girls and they invite Ryuji along. That night, the trio enter Jaharama and are disappointed to see a whole bunch of guys. They are greeted by Abe, who is surrounded by dozens of girls. Eikichi and Ryuji move to find two girls of their own and are interrupted by Mariko and Ayumi, who surmise that they haven't changed. Ryuji leaves Eikichi on his own and sits down to catch up with Ayumi. Ryuji comments on how Ayumi is more cheerful. They are interrupted by Mariko, who says that they have to leave. As she gets up to leave, Ayumi asks Ryuji on a date, telling him that she will be waiting for him after school. Ryuji expresses his happiness to Eikichi and they are watched on by an angry group who comment on how they dropped out of Kyokuto High and do nothing but fool around. They are reprimanded by a long haired man named Fumiya, who tells them they shouldn't be afraid of the Oni-baku and that he is the one in charge of Kyokuto High. Elsewhere, Ayumi arrives home and sits in the corner, depressed. Sometime later, Sato tunes up Ryuji's Honda CBX-400F for his date and Ryuji rides off. He catches a glimpse of Ayumi visiting a cemetery and follows her. There, he sees her break down and cry in front of a grave. Realising that Ayumi is still not over her ex-boyfriend, Ryuji chides himself for being dumb. Unknowing to her, Ayumi is also watched on by a man in a bike helmet, who rides off on his Yamaha V-Max. At Kyokuto High, some guys express their anger on the second years of their school still hails the Oni-baku as their leader. Fumiya tells them not to worry, as they will soon realise that the Oni-baku are something of the past. |

Chapter 41: "The Amusement Park and Beyond" Ryuji shows off his tuned up CBX to Eikichi and leaves for his date. He meets Ayumi at a restaurant, who chides him for being late. As they talk, Ryuji remembers Ayumi crying at the cemetery. They leave to go to an amusement park and are watched on by the man on the V-Max. At the park, Ayumi and Ryuji enjoy various attractions together. Despite the all the fun, Ryuji still has the image of a crying Ayumi at the back of his mind. They take a break to eat ice-cream on a bench and Ayumi speculates that they look more like a couple than student and teacher. Ryuji reveals to her that he saw her at the cemetery and asks her despite still loving her ex-boyfriend, why did she choose to be with him. Silence follows and she gets up and asks him to take her for a ride on his bike. As they ride down the street, Ryuji attempts to ask Ayumi again and a saddened Ayumi asks him to stop the bike. She reveals to Ryuji that this was the very spot that her ex-boyfriend lost his life and became like the wind. She tells Ryuji that she has to move on and that day in the cemetery was her last farewell to him. They are interrupted by the man on the V-Max, who nearly runs them down. Ayumi recognises the bike and the man takes off his helmet, revealing himself to be Fumiya. He declares that he heard the deceitful things Ayumi said in front of the grave. He says he will never forgive her and rides off. Ayumi reveals to Ryuji that the man on the V-Max is Shindoji Fumiya, her ex-boyfriend's younger brother. Back home, Fumiya looks at his brother's picture and tells him that he met the woman who betrayed him. He declares that he will send Ayumi and her knight in shining armour straight to hell. |

Chapter 42: "A Man Named Shindoji Fumiya" Fumiya orders the other Kyokuto High guys to attack everyone they see in Tsujido High uniform but leave Ryuji for himself. While vacuuming at home, Ayumi knocks over a photo of herself, her ex-boyfriend and Fumiya and thinks of them. At Tsujido Station, two Tsujido High students, one of them identified as Kuwabara, notice more Kyokuto High students than normal. They are approached and punched by some Kyokuto High students. All over the place, Tsujido High students are hunted down and beaten up. In the public restroom, Saejima is interrupted by a Tsujido High second year named Oshima, who gets thrown into his stall. Oshima begs him for help and they are surrounded by Kyokuto High thugs, who recognise Saejima. Saejima declares he can take them on and is surprised to see more Kyokuto thugs enter the restroom. He charges ad attacks them while Fumiya stands and listens outside. Elsewhere, Ryuji and Eikichi are approached by Imai, their friend from Kyokuto High and they state on how long it has been since Eikichi's bald haircut incident. In a restaurant, Imai tells the Oni-baku that Kato is hospitalised with crushed arms and that their school recently had a new transfer student. One by one, Kyokuto High second years are brutally beaten and hospitalised, first Sawamura, and then Ishiyama followed by Kato. Imai names the transfer student Fumiya, to Ryuji's surprise. We cut back to Saejima, who has successfully knocked down all of the Kyokuto High guys. He walks out into the hallway to see a beaten Oshima on the ground. Saejima gets hit on the back of the head by a Kyokuto High named Maruyama. Marayuma reminds him on how Saejima use to shove pencils up his nose and that the day he will get his revenge has finally arrived. As the other Kyokuto High guys hold Saejima back, Marayuma returns the favour to Saejima and shoves pencils up Saejima's nose. Fumiya enters and shows Marayuma how it should be done and brutally smashes Saejima's nose onto the ground. He declares that Ryuji is next. He walks outside and spots Mariko and Ayumi and declares that he will also get the traitor. |

Chapter 43: "The Man with the Frenzy" Eikichi questions Ryuji why he wants to rush to Kyokuto High so bad after hearing the name Fumiya. They are approached by Makoto, who informs them that a whole bunch of Tsujido High students were beaten up by Kyokuto High thugs at the station. At Tsujido Station, Mariko advises Ayumi to confront Fumiya. They see a crowd and as they approach, they spot a bloodied Saejima on the ground. Ayumi spots a smirking Fumiya in the crowd and chases after him. She confronts him and gets knocked out. As Mariko makes a phone call to her school, she spots Ayumi being carried away on Fumiya's bike. Makoto and the Oni-baku arrive at Tsujido Station and see Saejima getting carried away on a stretcher. Mariko informs Ryuji that Ayumi has been kidnapped he looks outside to see Fumiya. Ryuji frantically jumps on his bike and are blocked off by a group of Kyokuto High guys. As Eikichi fends them off, Ryuji pursues Fumiya. He catches up and demands to know where he is taking Ayumi. Fumiya simply replies heaven and speeds up. They continue along the road and Ryuji demands that Fumiya gives back Ayumi. Fumiya responds by throwing Ayumi off his bike and Ryuji jumps off his in order to catch her. As Ryuji proceeds to punch Fumiya, he is stopped in his tracks when Fumiya reveals that Ayumi is getting married soon. |

Ayumi, Fumiya & Ryuji Chapter 44: "How Could You Get Married?" Fumiya continues to tell Ryuji that he is risking his life for a woman who is planning to marry someone else and rides off. Later at the hospital, Eikichi and Makoto ask Ryuji how he is but Ryuji slinks by without replying. Eikichi tells Makoto that they're going to get Fumiya and leave. As Ayumi's mum leaves her room at the hospital, Ryuji pops in and she asks him how he is. Ryuji then asks her if her planned marriage is a lie. She tells him that it is her fault that Fumiya hates her so much. Elsewhere, Kyokuto High students continue to hunt down Tsujido High students. Eikichi continues his search for Fumiya. Back at the hospital, Ayumi tells Ryuji that Fumiya lost his parents at a young age and was very close to his brother. He saw Ayumi as an older sister. When his brother died, he told Ayumi that his brother thought of her until the end and that she has to love his brother forever, otherwise he will kill her. She revealed to Ryuji that the bike Fumiya rides belongs to his brother. Elsewhere, a Tsujido High student is getting kicked around by a group of Kyokuto High students. They are interrupted by Kamata and are surprised that Kamata goes to Tsujido High. Kamata knocks one down and is interrupted by Fumiya. We cut back to Ayumi, who tells Ryuji that everything is her fault and it's true that she is getting married and is thus a traitor. We cut back to Fumiya, who is knocked down by Kamata. He warns him to stay away from Tsujido High students and turns to leave. Fumiya charges at Kamata and stabs him in the back with a knife. Grinning, he says that it's self defence. |
