Ryuji & Saejima
Chapter 27: "The War Begins" As Eikichi continues his search, Ryuji takes on Saejima and his friends. Ryuji easily knocked down Saejima's friends, leaving only Saejima standing. As he charges at Saejima, Ryuji is hit over the head with a wooden stick by Kamata. The Mad Dogs of Kamakura proceed to move in on Ryuji. Elsewhere, Eikichi questions everyone he sees but no on seems to know where Saejima and Kamata are. He is approached by Itou, who reveals that she graduated from the same junior high as the Mad Dogs of Kamakura and says that she will reveal their locations if Eikichi takes her out for ice-cream. Elsewhere, Tsukai gets beaten up Misaki and his gang, who attempt to persuade Tsukai to betray the Oni-baku, saying that Ryuji is already in the process of being taken care of. Tsukai retaliates with a punch to Misaki's face and demands to know what is happening to Ryuji. At an ice-cream parlour, Itou reveals Saejima and Kamata's history to Eikichi. Tsukai rushes and tells Eikichi about Ryuji's ambush. They are interrupted by a mannequin thrown through the window, wearing Ryuji's coat. A message on the coat informs Eikichi that he's next.
|Chapter 28: "Tsujido High Wars" Mariko suspects that Makoto's injuries aren't due to a fall as Makoto had told them but as a result of bullying. She surmises that the bloodshed in their school has begun. Elsewhere, Saejima and Kamata discuss how weak the Oni-baku are. They walk into the next room, where their friends are beating up a tied up Ryuji. Ryuji counts each punch, declaring that he intends to pay them back with every punch. This infuriates Kamata, who lunges at Ryuji and attacks him ruthlessly. Ryuji continues counting and faints. Elsewhere, Itou and Tsukai try to stop Eikichi from going alone. They are confronted by Mariko, who forbids Eikichi to go and threatens with expulsion from school. Eikichi says he doesn't care; he needs to help his friend and rides off. As Tsukai and Itou beg Mariko not to expel Eikichi, Mariko smiles and calls him an idiot. At home, a bandaged Makoto receives a visit from Saejima. He reveals that Ryuji is already in their hands and that he needs Makoto to do him a favour. Eikichi arrives at the house where Ryuji is held and is greeted by Makoto. He tells Eikichi that Ryuji is being kept at a warehouse, who rushes off. Makoto hangs his head and apologises to Eikichi while Saejima's friends watches on from the inside. They reveal to Ryuji that they used Makoto to trick Eikichi into going to Saejima's place. Still tied, a determined Ryuji jumps through the window to escape. |
Chapter 29: "Bust Out" Ryuji lands on the ground and Saejima's friends rush outside, only to find Ryuji gone. They are surprised from behind by Ryuji, who knocks them down and demands the whereabouts of Kamata. Makoto leads Eikichi to the warehouse. They both rush in and Eikichi is ambushed by Saejima and his friends. Eikichi demands to know what is going on and Makoto apologises to a surprised Eikichi and asks for forgiveness. Eikichi is held back and beaten up by Saejima's friends. Makoto closes his eyes and thinks back on his younger days where he is always bullied and is afraid to get beaten up. As Eikichi falls to the ground, he looks at Makoto and asks him again that it was a lie and that Makoto didn't betray him. Eikichi gets knocked down again. As Saejima attempts to smash Eikichi's head with a brick, Makoto grabs a shovel and hits Saejima over the head, saying that he can't betray Eikichi. He gets knocked down by Saejima's friends. They are interrupted by a punch from Eikichi, who picks up a wooden stick. He declares that he will show them how the new Oni-baku legend will start.
|Chapter 30: "The Big Turn-Around" At the hospital, one of Abe's girlfriends, Aki, visits him in his room, only to discover that his bed is empty. Outside, Abe hears Aki's screams and apologises, stating that he has to do this. Elsewhere, Tsukai and Itou spies on Kamata. Tsukai declares that he wants revenge for Ryuji and Itou says that she will help fight too. Inside the restaurant, Kamata and his friends discuss Ryuji's fate and are overheard by Takada, one of the Midnight Angels leaders, a bike gang that was taken down by the Oni-baku. He warns Kamata on what he has got himself into and leaves. Abe rushes in saying that he has unfinished business with Kamata, who receives a surprise punch through the window by Ryuji. Abe thinks over how Ryuji is always one step ahead of him and Ryuji declares to Kamata that he will show him his true colours. At the warehouse, only Saejima is left standing after Eikichi takes care of his friends. Saejima threatens Eikichi with a story of his brutality in the past but receives a punch in the face, knocking him out. Saejima's friends are stunned to see that Saejima was taken out with one punch. Makoto praises Eikichi for his strength and starts to cry. We cut back to Kamata, who is no match against Ryuji, now with the backup of Abe, Tsukai and Itou. |
Kamata & Ryuji
Chapter 31: "Proclamation of Power!!" Kamata grabs a pole and lunges at Ryuji, but is retaliated with a kick to the stomach. As Kamata's friends try to attack Ryuji from behind, they are stopped by Abe, Tsukai and Itou. Ryuji starts counting, paying Kamata back for every punch that he received earlier. Kamata's friends realise that Kamata is no match for Ryuji. Kamata refuses to stay down, saying that he would rather go to prison for murder than lose to Ryuji. He takes out a knife, but is restrained by his friends. They are interrupted by Takada, who asks Ryuji to let Kamata go, saying that Kamata is still his junior. Kamata breaks free and charges at Ryuji with the knife. Ryuji proves to be too quick and punches Kamata in the stomach, knocking him down. Kamata finally realises that he has no chance against Ryuji's strength. Ryuji offers Kamata his hand and helps him up, saying that their debts are now cleared. Ryuji walks off with Itou, Abe and Tsukai, who are greeted by Eikichi. Ryuji and Eikichi congratulate each other for winning and Ryuji asks him if Makoto really did betray them. Eikichi gives Makoto a look, who remains silent. Eikichi then proceeds to tell Ryuji that he and Makoto took Saejima and his friends down together. Makoto tries to hold back his tears and silently thanks Eikichi.
|Chapter 32: "We're All But Bathers" At a bath house, Saejima complains to Kamata about the Oni-baku. However, Kamata tells him that he has accepted their defeat and Saejima smiles. Saejima says that he won't lose to the Oni-baku in future and laughs. They are watched by two of their friends, who surmise that they bear no grudge against the Oni-baku. They watch Kamata get out of the bath and notice Kamata's large tight towel. They speculate that Kamata has a baby turtle underneath. As Kamata walks out, he spots the Oni-baku walking in. Not wanting them to see him when he pulls down his towel, he dives back into the bath. The Oni-baku are greeted by Saejima, while Kamata hides under the water. Eikichi taunts Saejima, who stands up and both face each other removing their towels. Saejima notices Eikichi's tiny turtle and laughs. Ryuji also starts laughing and an angry Eikichi demands Ryuji to compare his. Ryuji confidently reveals his giant tortoise. Eikichi is speechless as Saejima and Ryuji comment on each other's tortoises. Kamata calls them immature and stands up to leave. Saejima states that he's never seen it before and the group proceed to pull Kamata's towel off, revealing a baby tadpole. Eikichi taunts that it is even smaller than his. As Saejima boasts that his is the biggest in the room, Abe walks in with his super giant tortoise. The others are stunned as Abe shows off the pearls attached to his tortoise. However, Eikichi and Kamata, who have become instant best friends, state that size doesn't matter. They are suddenly interrupted by Makoto, who walks in with Turtle-saurus, the monster alien tortoise from outer space. Makoto smugly asks who has the biggest and gets beaten up by everyone else. |
|Chapter 33: "Shonan Love 1: You're In My Train Pass" Tsukai quietly watches Itou in class and is interrupted by Eikichi, who cries out that his lunch is missing. Itou approaches Eikichi and offers to give him her sandwiches. Eikichi starts eating and vomits. Itou complains on how hard she worked to make them and Tsukai grabs one and says that he likes them. Eikichi is stunned and asks a surprised Tsukai how it can taste good with vomit on it. Tsukai reflects on how he has fallen for Itou and drops his wallet. Ryuji picks it up and notices that it contains a photo of Itou. Later, Ryuji tells Eikichi of the photo and they plan to help Tsukai, while helping themselves at the same time. In class, a determined Itou plans her next sandwich and is confident that Eikichi will like it. Ryuji and Eikichi enters and declares that they are planning a get together. They ask Itou to invite her female friends too and Itou agrees and walks off. The Oni-baku inform each other to not invite the other guys as they want the girls to themselves. To their surprise, Saejima and Makoto overhears them and invite themselves to the get together. Abe walks by and also invites himself. Elsewhere, Itou invites Tsukai. Itou surmises that the get together will turn out good and the two walk off together. |Chapter 34: "Shonan Love 2: More Than You Realise" Tsukai meets Itou at a shopping centre and reflects upon how this is his first date with her. He takes Itou shopping for clothes and the sales assistant mistakes the two for a couple. As Tsukai struggle to explain to the sales assistant, Itou winks at him and says that he is her boyfriend. Later, they go for a drink and both reveal to each other that they have someone they like. Itou compares Tsukai to the Oni-baku and Tsukai proceeds to tell her about the Oni-baku's legendary fight with Nakajo, leader of the Enoshima gangs, saying that Itou shouldn't compare him to the Oni-baku. Itou sees how much admiration Tsukai has for the Oni-baku but tells him that he is better looking. Later, Tsukai helps an intoxicated Itou home and she reveals to him that she is in love with Eikichi and wants to admire him the way Tsukai does. Although heartbroken, he tells Itou that he will support her and she tells him that he's kind. Itou falls asleep and Tsukai wonders what a kind guy should do in this situation and asks himself why being a man is so tough. On the day of the get together, Saejima, now with a new longer hairstyle, convinces Kamata to come along, who says that he isn't interested in chasing women anymore. They bump into a pretty blonde girl, who runs off. Kamata recognises her from somewhere, but discards that idea and leaves. At a pub, the Oni-baku and Tsukai waits for the girls and Itou arrives. Tsukai gives her words of encouragement and Eikichi questions where the other girls are. Itou thinks about how she only invited ugly girls and is convinced that she will get Eikichi. A pretty blonde girl walks up to Itou and introduces herself as Kaoru, saying that she was invited by a friend. Saejima and Kamata arrive and they recognise her as the girl they bumped into earlier. Kamata is surprised to find out that she's Kaoru while Itou asks herself who is this girl. |
|Chapter 35: "Shonan Love 3: All For That Special One" As Kamata is shocked to discover that the girl is Kaoru, the other girls begin to arrive. Itou is angry at them for inviting Kaoru and to her dismay, Eikichi and Ryuji have their attention on Kaoru, brushing off the other ugly girls and Itou. Abe and Makoto arrives and everyone competes for a seat next to Kaoru. Kamata confronts Kaoru and asks her what she is doing here. She tries to brush him off and the others beat him up. Kamata tries to warn them that they will regret it but is ignored by the others. Itou and even Tsukai try to turn Eikichi's attention towards Itou, but fails. Itou tries to gain attention by taking off her top, but to her surprise, she is ignored by every guy from the group, except for Tsukai. In the corner, Kamata watches on and surmises that Kaoru doesn't give up. Later in the bath room, Itou tells Tsukai that she hates Eikichi while Tsukai tries to restrain her anger. Tsukai tries to cheer up a heartbroken Itou and they walk back out, only to find that everyone has left. Elsewhere, Eikichi declares that they head for the next party. Abe gets struck in the head by Saejima. He demands to know what is going on and the Oni-baku knocks him down further, eliminating the competition. The remaining players, Ryuji, Eikichi, Makoto and Saejima agree that the last man standing will claim Kaoru they decide that they should take down Kamata next.
