Eikichi & Ryuji Chapter 261: “Mission Impossible”At Tsujido High, the principal welcomes the new freshman and Mariko tells Kadena her concerns about the new students being trouble as a large proportion skipped the entrance ceremony. Elsewhere, the Oni-baku complains about the compulsory extra course they have to take during vacation to avoid repeating the year. They spot the truant first years being told off for skipping the entrance ceremony. The first years spot the Oni-baku and quickly surround the duo. Confirming the identity of Eikichi, the group bows and the leader, Mori Kunimitsu of the Shonan Middle School Alliance, asks Eikichi to accept him and his twenty men as the Onizuka Elite Guard to help Eikichi conquer all of Japan. The freshmen move into formation and throw their jackets on the ground, forming a path for the Oni-baku to walk on. Folllowing the Oni-baku, various Elite Guard members offer to hold Eikichi’s bag, rub his shoulders and take his jacket and Ryuji asks Eikichi if they should continue walking with the group. Eikichi tries to think of a way to ditch them and lights his cigarette, only to find six freshmen pouncing on him and shoving their lighters in his face. Eikichi surmises that they might come in handy and states that he is thirsty. To his surprise, the group breaks a nearby vending machine and hands him several drinks, stating that they will get him what he wants even if it costs them their lives. Ryuji advises that they should do something before things get serious and Eikichi states that he has a plan. He then intructs the Elite Guard to undertake a mission for him. Sometime later, Eikichi meets up with Tsukai and tells him that he sent the Elite Guard on an impossible mission to make him graduate without taking extra classes. They spot a crowd up ahead near the school and rush forward to find the school on fire. Kunimitsu declares that Eikichi won’t have to take anymore classes and remain a junior. He reveals that they doused the report cards in petrol and asks a shocked Eikichi if he nows accepts them as his Elite Guard. |

Chapter 262: “The Shonan War Erupts”The Oni-baku are questioned by the police in regards to the fire and Ryuji is relieved that no one got hurt. Eikichi approaches Katsuyuki and Yasuo for help and Katsuyuki reassures Eikichi that he will handle the situation, stating that he is trhe only Elite Guard Eikichi requires. Katsuyuki approaces the Elite Guard and declares that under Eikichi’s orders, they are to be working under Katsuyuki starting today. Kunimitsu recognises Katsuyuki as his senpai from middle school and Katsuyuki is shocked to see how much he has changed. Kunimitsu reveals that he became obsessed after hearing the Onizuka legend from Katsuyuki. Elsewhere, Ryuji asks Eikichi if it was wise to leave things to Katsuyuki as only recently he was talking about conquering Japan as well. They spot a fight in the distance and arrive to find a group wearing Onizuka Elite Guard uniforms fighting in Eikichi’s name, with Katsuyuki leading the group. Eikichi is back to square one as he walks down the street escorted by the Elite Guard (now including the K. T. Butai). They are spotted by Nakajo and Tamura, who recognises Eikichi and starts laughing. Provoked, Katsuyuki attacks Tamura, who blocks the punch and the two stands face to face. A laughing Nakajo asks if Eikichi is really serious and Katsuyuki declares that Eikichi will become the top dog for all Kanagawa. Tension rises and Eikichi tries to calm Nakajo down. Later, Eikichi and Ryuji meet with Nakajo at Benny’s restaurant to explain the situation. Nakajo states that it doesn’t concern him but wouldn’t mind a war with Tsujido, hinting he wants to fight the Oni-baku. He tells the Oni-baku to control their own men and they are interrupted by Tamura, who calls them to go outside. The Oni-baku are shocked to see Nakajo’s car smashes and an enraged Nakajo asks Tamura to bring him his katana. |

Eikichi & Ryuji Chapter 263: “A New Legend?!” Nakajo instructs Tamura to round up everyone with a vehicle and vows to slice Katsuyuki in two. The Oni0baku quickly bolt to find Katsuyuki to make him apologise to Nakajo. They spot Katsuyuki and the Elite Guard at a gathering and Eikichi tells them to scatter as Nakajo is out for blood. Katsuyuki declares that he isnt’t scared and Nakajo and the rest of Enoshima High arrive at the scene. Nakajo charges at Katsuyuki, who is save momentarily by Eikichi and Ryuji as they try to calm Nakajo down. Katsuyuki insults Nakajo and Enoshima further despite Eikichi’s advice and Tamura declares that he can’t sit back and watch Katsuyuki bad mouth Nakajo. He boasts that Enoshima High runs deep and they managed to round forty guys with pipes. More motorcycles arrive and Katsuyuki reveals that the Hiratsuka Skand group has been summoned by Eikichi for backup. Nakajo praises Eikichi’s guts and elbows him. An all out brawl breaks out and Ryuji tells Eikichi he must do something to stop the fight. Eikichi hops on his bike and rides into the other bikes, causing an explosion to get everyone’s attention, telling them to knock it off before he gets pissed. Fuel drips from the bikes and a horrified Ryuji points out the trail of fire and fuel behind Eikichi. Eikichi turns around just in time to see Nakajo’s Nissan Z explode to smithereens. Nakajo realises how serious Eikichi must be in regards to his conquest and declares that Enoshima and Tsujido are at war, with instant death matches if either group meets each other around town. |

Chapter 264: “Our Path…?”Katsuyuki and the Elite Guard beat groups of Enoshima High students, giving them the message to Nakajo that Shonan belongs to Eikichi. Elsewhere, Eikichi, Ryuji and Fumiya spot graffiti left by the Elite Guard stating death to Enoshima and Eikichi asks Fumiya to talk to Nakajo. Fumiya states that things are getting interesting and that Eikichi should go all out to see who is strongest in Shonan. Fumiya declares that he will watch from the sidelines for the time being and would only make his move once Junya does. Fumiya tries to persuade Ryuji to join in as well and Ryuji spots Nagisa at a café with Akira. He discovers that Akira came from Toyko to help Nagisa study. That night, Ryuji sneaks into Nagisa’s room and confesses that it is his first time seeing it. Ryuji spots textbooks on clinical psychology qualification exam and Nagisa reveals that she wants to be a therapist, due to her experiences in the past. Ryuji cheers Nagisa on and leaves before her parents discover him. Feeling left behind, Ryuji questions his goals and wonders what he will be like in ten years. He is interrupted by Hino, who reveals that after hearing about Katsuyuki’s Elite Guard, Hino recruited seventy men to form the Baku-Ryu Squad, devout followers of Ryuji to rival the elite guard. Later, Eikichi’s and Ryuji’s group clash as the go for coffee. Katsuyuki stares Hino down and the tension escalates. The two group starts to fight and the Oni-baku reminisce about their middle school days with Fukitoshi, Sakura and Isami. They were free back then, doing whatever they wanted and wonder when things turned out the way they are. |

Chapter 265: “Final Choice”Eikichi approaches Shinomi in a convenience store early in the morning and Shinomi is surprised to see him up before noon. She tells him to go elsewhere if he is only after sex and Eikichi offers to give her a ride along the coast. Shinomi is even more surprised to see Eikichi’s ZII and surmises that he doesn’t ride it often. As they ride through the streets, Eikichi asks Shinomi about her future dreams and Shinomi discloses that she might study make up after high school. A suspicious Shinomi senses something out of the ordinary with Eikichi’s behaviour and they arrive at Shonan Daira, a frequent place where lovers gather. Shinomi discovers a lock love area and Eikichi suggests that they should add their lock as well. Eikichi closes in to a surprised Shinomi and the two share a kiss. Elsewhere at around the same time, Ryuji meets up with Ayumi and tells her about Nagisa, the love of his life. He reveals that he couldn’t bring himself to tell her the previous time they ran into each other and had been regretting it. Ayumi’s phone starts ringing and she gets up, making a promise with Ryuji that the both of them be happy before she leaves. Later that evening, Ryuji calls Nagisa from a payphone and tells his surprised girlfriend that he loves her. He urges her to make her dreams come true before he hangs up. Eikichi asks him if his mind is made up and Ryuji returns the same question. Ryuji confirms that it will mean that they will never be able to go back to who they are now. News of the war reaches Kashiya, Joey, Junya, Sato, Takezawa, Sakaki, Saya and even Kamishima (who is in a mental hospital). Two days later, 6:30PM at the Ghost Building on Katase 7th Ave by Sakagawa River, a massive gathering occurs to watch Eikichi (along with Katsuyuki, the K. T. Butai and the Elite Guard) face off Nakajo (with Tamura and Enoshima High). Fumiya marvels at the turnout to see the battle for top dog in Shonan and as Nakajo and Eikichi start their fight, Junya states that he is sure that the real opponent is about to make his appearance. |

Nakajo & Eikichi Chapter 266: “An Old Score”As more and more gather, Saya points out the key players: Onizuka Eikichi from Shonan’s infamous Oni-baku; Nakajo Kunito the famous brawler who rose to the top of Enoshima as a freshman; Shindoji Fumiya who united Kyoku High and took part in the famous seaside line battle on his V-max; Kashiya Junji the successor to the largest syndicate in Kanagawa and the creator of Blue Rose; Akutsu Junya, leader of the new Midnight Angels and Kyosuke Masaki’s successor; as well as Hiratsuka’s Skanda, Sagami’s Black Night, Ayase’s Yareikai, Ninomiya’s Killer Bikers, Atsugi’s Triple X, Gokudobae Street Murder and Yokohama’s Dogs and Jarei. Saya surmises that it will be one hell of a festival and senses a bad feeling. Fumiya wonders who Eikichi’s real opponent may be other than Nakajo. We cut to Nakajo, who makes the first move, who swings a hook at Eikichi. They are interrupted by Ryuji, who tells Nakajo to not lay a finger on Eikichi. Nakajo asks if Ryuji is here for backup and Ryuji scoffs, stating that he has a score to settle with Eikichi from way before any of them had any beef with Eikichi. Ryuji offers to show the crowd a real fight: an all out brawl between the Oni-baku. He asks Eikichi is he’s ready, who tells Ryuji to bring it. A fight ensues between the two, blows being exchanged equally and neither show any signs of defeat. The onlookers are shocked at the intensity and the brutality of the blows as blood drips down both fighters’ heads. Realising that this is not a brawl between friends but a fight to the death, the onlookers finally see the true Oni-baku. To everyone’s horror, Ryuji sticks a knife into Eikichi and Katsuyuki rushes forward but is told to stay back by Eikichi. Saya begs them to stop before someone dies and Eikichi retaliates by sticking a knife into Ryuji. Both men fall to the ground and they reminisce about their first days together. Due to messing around too much, they now have to pay for their actions and Eikichi suggests that they bring it to an end. The two friends hold each other up and scoff at the idea of being Shonan’s top, stating that it brings nothing but trouble. The Oni-baku announces their retirement and moves to the ledge of the building. They bid farwell before jumping down into the river below. |

Eikichi & Ryuji Chapter 267: “Goodbye, Shonan…”Elsewhere, a photo of Ryuji and Nagisa breaks in Nagisa’s room whilst Shinomi suddenly thinks of Eikichi. Mixed reactions are seen on the rooftop. A crying Saya chides the Oni-baku for being fools whilst Katsuyuki attempts to jump off and join Eikichi, only to be held back by Tamura. The Sagawa steps up to claim Shonan’s top spot and is struck down by Saya, who informs everyone that the Oni-baku sacrificed their lives to tell them how lame fighting for the top spot is. She tells everyone to respect them for using their lives to teach them that gang wars lead nowhere. An expressionless Junya picks up the bloody knife left by the Oni-baku. The reactions of the Oni-baku’s fate are seen throughout Shonan: Nakajo praises their big hearts, despite expressing his emotions too late; Joey surmises that they were on a whole different level; a sobbing Katsuyuki is lost without them; Saejima chides them for being idiots; a crying Hino mourns for Ryuji; Okubo admires their strength after getting beaten, despite being their senior; Fumiya expresses his regret for not seeing them settle things; Yokokawa is somewhat glad to hear of their fate; Sakaki is excited to start his era; Kiwamezawa remains emotionless; Tsukai, Ito and Makoto try to hold back their tears; in New York in a bar, Kamata receives a phone call; Nagisa and Shinomi both shed tears; Sato reveals that he saw this day coming; Takezawa is speechless; Midoji compares them to Masaki, with no one able to catch up with their tail lights. The Oni-baku have become the wind, Shonan’s sea breeze. On the rooftop, Saya, Juya, Fumiya, Katsuyukiand the K. T. Butai stay behind to pay their respects. Junya stabs Fumiya with the bloody knife he picked up and asks everyone if they think the Oni-baku are really dead. A surprised Fumiya realises that the wound didn’t hurt despite bloody dripping everywhere and Junya reveals the knife to be fake. In the river below, two figures wearing diving masks emerge from the water. Eikichi congratulates Ryuji for orchestrating such an emotional performance and likens it to how they left Kyoku High and first entered Tsujido High. Ryuji states that this was on a whole new level, even dragging in the whole of Shonan. Finally free, the two friends ditch their Shonan Street Performer coats and bid their farewell to Shonan. |
