Chapter 9: "The Critical Situation" Eikichi fantasises about Aina and gets pulled back to reality by Ryuji. While the duo wait to meet with Aina, they worry about what she looks like. They are greeted by two pretty girls, Aina and her friend Shirayuri Momoko. The two girls reveal that they are single and that their school rules prevent them from dating. Aina wants to talk to Eikichi alone, so Ryuji and Momoko go off together. Upon chatting, Ryuji learns from Momoko that Aina has a terrible secret. Elsewhere, Aina reveals her feelings to Eikichi and asks him to kiss her. We cut back to Ryuji, who discovers that Aina has a sexually transmitted disease and that she is out to infect guys as a grudge. This panics Ryuji, who rush to save Eikichi but is pulled back by a persistent Momoko and he gives in. Aina and Eikichi move in closer and closer for the kiss.
Chapter 10: "Street Fighters" As they are about to kiss, Aina thinks back to her past and starts to cry. She thinks about all the guys she's infected and that Eikichi is just another foolish victim while Eikichi mistakes the tears for love. Just as their lips are about to touch, they are interrupted by two guys who have fallen victim to Aina in the past. Aina turns to Eikichi for help and pretends to not know the two guys. The thugs tell Eikichi that Aina is diseased, but he chooses to believe Aina, who says that she'll do it with him if he wins. He takes the thugs down, while Aina tries to sneak off. However, she is caught by a guy named Machida, who wants Aina for himself. He takes Eikichi down in one punch and reveals his dirty trick: brass knuckles. Much to his surprise, Eikichi is able to stand back up. While Aina tries to stop the fight, Machida strikes Eikichi down with a metal pole. Elsewhere, Ryuji finally has the guts to kiss Momoko but is interrupted by ambulance sirens. The two rush to the scene to find a badly injured Eikichi being carried away on a stretcher.
Chapter 11: "When Wolves Attack" Eikichi returns to school in bandages and a broken arm. He tells the others that he was ganged up on but Ryuji knows otherwise. Makoto and Tsukai offer help in getting revenge but Eikichi brushes the whole incident off. Ryuji surmises that Eikichi is scared and Eikichi storms off in anger. Ryuji goes to the Ferris School for Girls and confronts Momoko in order to find the guy who beat Eikichi up. Elsewhere, Machida tells a bruised Aina that she belongs to him forever. Ryuji finds Eikichi in an arcade and tries to talk some sense into him then leaves. Wreaking havoc at a pub, Ryuji demands that Machida come out and fight him. Machida agrees and smashes a glass bottle on Ryuji's head just as his back is turned. Back at the arcade, Eikichi realises that Ryuji is right. As Ryuji gets beat up on the floor, Aina tries to stop the fight and gets hit. Machida leaves his friends to continue beating Ryuji and walks outside, only to see his car totally trashed. On top of the car stands Eikichi, who challenges Machida to a rematch.
Chapter 12: "Yokohama Gig Night" Aina expresses her happiness about Eikichi coming to rescue her but is struck down by Machida. Inside the pub, Machida's friends move out to aid Machida, only to be pulled back by Ryuji. Outside, Eikichi takes a punch from Machida's brass knuckles. Machida taunts Eikichi for falling for his tricks a second time. His taunt is cut short with a blow to the face. Eikichi reveals to a surprised Machida the iron plate on his chest – an eye for an eye. Now that the fight is fairer, Eikichi and Machida go all out and exchange blows as a stunned Aina looks on. Machida proves to be no match for Eikichi and is easily struck down. He then runs towards the pub for backup, only to find his friends are already knocked out by Ryuji. With nowhere left to go, he begs Eikichi for mercy, with no success and is beaten up. As the Oni-baku leave, Aina comes thanking Eikichi and wants to be his girlfriend. However, Eikichi tells Aina that he didn't do it for her but for himself. He tells Aina to go home and walks off with Ryuji.
Chapter 13: "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas" At a restaurant, Ryuji reveals to a shocked Eikichi about Aina's condition. Ryuji also reveals he lost his chance with Momoko when he abandoned her to help Eikichi, saying that friendship comes before romance. After escaping the restaurant without paying, the duo sadly reflects on the fact that they have no money and no women and go to the video store to find relief. Instead of a porn video, they are mistakenly given a Hamada Tomoya movie, in which they watch and are reminded of the Yoron Island incident. At school, Ryuji works up the courage to ask Ayumi out for a drink and wanders into the teacher's staff room. He notices a school ski trip form and a knitting bag as Ayumi angrily tells him not to look in other people's belongings. They argue and Ryuji storms off. Mariko persuades Ayumi into going to the school ski trip together. At the Ferris School for girls, Aina reveals to Momoko that she has fallen in love with Eikichi. Elsewhere, Eikichi convinces Ryuji to go to the school ski trip, stating that it is an opportunity for romance. Ryuji agrees, thinking that it is an opportunity with Ayumi. He accidentally drops his ski trip form, which is picked up by Momoko. Momoko invites Aina to go skiing with her, knowing that Eikichi will be there. It begins snowing. Christmas is just around the corner.

Elsewhere, Eikichi tells Ryuji that they need to buy Christmas presents to give to girls they meet at the Tsumaike Ski Resort in order to experience a night of passion. He shows Ryuji an expensive three band trinity ring he just bought, only to find it had been switched with a fake. Later, Ryuji wanders around the shopping centre thinking of what to buy for Ayumi and bumps into her. Both apologise for the earlier incident. Ryuji asks Ayumi if she is free on Christmas Eve and just as he is about to say he has something to give her, they are interrupted by Momoko. Momoko hugs Ryuji and Ayumi quickly says she has to go. As she is leaving, she drops a knitted sweater with the letter R on it. Ayumi embarrassingly grabs the sweater and rushes off while Ryuji develops tears of joy, surmising that Ayumi likes him. A jealous Momoko thinks over what sort of relationship Ryuji and Ayumi have. At a jewellery store, a disguised Eikichi steals another ring and is noticed by Mariko. She confronts him and their voices are heard by Aina. Aina sees Eikichi handing over the ring to Mariko, who angrily swipes the ring, saying that no one can take away her Eikichi. She says that as Eikichi's girlfriend, the ring belongs to her and takes off. Back at home, Momoko unsuccessfully tries to knit a sweater and is interrupted by Aina. Momoko reveals that she has a little crush on Ryuji and that they should both try their best at the ski resort. That night, everyone prepares for the ski trip and the long awaited Christmas.
Ryuji & Eikichi Chapter 15: "Take Me Skiing!" At the ski resort, Ryuji tells a disappointed Eikichi that he won't be joining Eikichi in their quest to find a girl. He decides to find his true love and leaves Eikichi on his own. He impresses Ayumi with his skiing abilities and then crashes into Momoko. Momoko kisses a surprised Ryuji in front of Ayumi. Elsewhere, Eikichi unsuccessfully tries to impress girls with his poor skiing abilities. Mariko sees him and offers to help him with his skiing. They notice a suspicious character in a bunny costume. At a cabin, Eikichi wakes up in a cast for his broken leg and is greeted by Aina. Eikichi starts to panic as Aina undresses and tells him that this is his Christmas present.
Chapter 16: "Christmas Eve" As a terrified Eikichi tries to talk his way out, Aina moves closer. Eikichi reveals that he knows about Aina's disease, who reassures that she is cured. However, Eikichi exclaims that he hates girls who sleep around, bringing Aina to tears and she takes off. Eikichi realises that he can't get out of his cast and he might freeze to death. While running away, Aina bumps into a guy and in a moment of grief, she tells him that he can take her to a motel and have his way with her in order to forget about Eikichi. Mariko sees her walk away in the guy's arms. Back in her room, Momoko reflects on how she will be waiting for Ryuji to meet her tonight and hopes that he will show up. Back in his room, Ryuji ponders on what he should do. He calls Ayumi and tells him to meet him later as he has a present to give her. Ayumi realises that Ryuji is choosing her over Momoko. We cut back to Eikichi, who loses consciousness because of the cold. He later wakes up to find himself in Mariko's room. Mariko tells Eikichi what she saw and that he should be a man as Aina really loves him. She reveals that tonight was a joke and that Ryuji and Ayumi make a good couple. She tells Ryuji to go to Ayumi and he leaves. She starts to cry and throws away the sweater she knitted for him. She bids Ryuji farewell and thanks him. We cut back to Eikichi, who apologises to Aina for earlier. She gives him his Christmas present: a scarf shaped like a noose and thanks him, stating that she should start looking for a new love. She declares that she will become a good girl that Eikichi will regret not having. She bids him farewell and leaves, disappearing into the snow. Eikichi says that he will never forget her and puts on the scarf, commenting on how warm it is. Ryuji meets up with Ayumi and she gives him his present: a glove, much to his surprise. He questions about the sweater and Ayumi reveals that it belonged to her previous boyfriend, with today being the anniversary of his death.
