Chapter 162: "Moonlit Promise" Tsujido High is surprised with the new transfer student, Sakaki as he walks through the hallways declaring his conquest of the school. Sakaki introduces himself to the Oni-Baku's class and declares himself as the strongest. An agitated Saejima charges but Sakaki interrupts him, stating he is late for his morning bungee. Sakaki heads off to the roof, following by a surprised Saejima and Eikichi. Tying a rope to his leg, he offers Saejima to join him and jumps off the roof. Eikichi points out that this is why he isn't worth fighting. In a nearby locker room, two students bully a small looking student named Tamaru, demanding some money.Tamaru stays silent and the bullies ask him why his granddad hasn't given him his allowance. Tamaru states that his granddad is sick and the bullies slam him into the lockers, stating that he shouldn't mess with them. They are interrupted by Eikichi, who scares the bullies off. Eikichi tells Tamaru to be careful as Tamura watches in awe at how Eikichi scared the bullies off with just a couple of words. They are interrupted by Sakaki, who declares to Tamaru to come to him if he ever needs help. Sometime later, Yasuo tells Eikichi that Tamura previous went to his junior high and was known for being attached to his granddad. We cut to Tamura coming home from school and telling his sleeping granddad about his meeting with Eikichi and how it has inspired him to become tougher. Winter approaches Tsujido High and Tamaru arrives at school with his hair styled in a perm, surprising Eikichi and Yasuo. He explains that he wanted to look like Eikichi and Eikichi invites Tamaru over to his house to give him Eikichi's old pants to complete the new look. They are watched on from the shadows by the two bullies from the previous encounter. That night, Tamura tells his granddad about his day with Eikichi. Outside, the two bullies brutally murder Tamaru's dog, Shiro, and they call to warn Tamaru to stop hanging around the Oni-Baku and to bring them 100,000 yen. The next day, Eikichi and Yasuo are surprised to see Tamaru revert back to his old look. Upon asking what was wrong, Tamaru refuses to answer and runs off. He meets the two bullies in the restroom, who tells him to meet behind the soccer room later with the money. The bullies take their leave and Eikichi appears, revealing that he heard the whole situation. Tamaru begs Eikichi to help him and Eikichi states that he wants his pants back, saying that Tamaru should take care of the situation on his own if he wants to be tougher. Eikichi walks away and Tamaru, desperate to be tougher, eyes a blade sitting on the table. |

Chapter 163: "I Want To Be Tough" Tamaru arrives at the soccer room to face the two bullies and declares that they will never get any money out of him. Determined never to bow down to anyone ever again, Tamaru threatens his tormentors with his blade and the bullies laugh at him, pointing out his shakiness. Tamura surprises the bullies and charges at them with his blade, only to be stopped by Eikichi, who tells him not to do anything stupid. Eikichi grabs the two bullies and thay are interrupted by George, the bullies' leader, who asks his comrades if Eikichi is the guy who calls himself strongest in Shonan. George demands Eikichi to lick his boots and the bullies boast about George's karate tournament winning skills. George knocks Eikichi down with a series of blows. He is surprised by Eikichi, who asks him if he has ever faced death and knocks him unconscious. Eikichi grabs the nearby bully and tells them if he ever sees them again, they're as good as dead. Eikichi reprimands Tamaru never to do anything this stupid again and demands his pants back, saying that Tamaru will never be tough. Later that night, Tamaru arrives home to find that his granddad died in his sleep thirty minutes prior. As tears form in his eyes, his mother gives him a suitcase his granddad left him, saying his last words were to make Tamaru promise to be strong. At school, Yasuo and Atsushi discuss Eikichi's bad mood in relation to his fight with George and fights over Eikichi's pants. They are surprised by Tamura, who tells Eikichi that he can't return the pants because he made a promise to his granddad to become stronger. Eikichi smiles and wishes him good luck. Sometime later, in a dark alleyway, a group of Fujiryo High students are confronted by a mysterious man with the name "Yagyo Atsuki" painted on his coat. |

Chapter 164: "Hundred Demons Of Shonan" The Fujiryo High students beg the mysterious man to let them go, who attacks them. The mysterious man declares he wants more friends and using sharp pencils, he carves the word "oni" into their hands in the name of Yagyo Atsuki, the demons of the night. The next morning on the train, Atsushi tells his friend to be careful due to the appearence of Yagyo Atsuki. He is interrupted by Tamaru, Eikichi, Tsukai and Yasuo, and proceeds to inform them of Yagyo Atsuki. Eikichi laughs it off and states that he will fill the role of demon slayer anyday if any problems arise. At school, Tsukai informs the group that his kohai from Enoshima High were attacked too, confirming the seriousness of the situation. A determined Tamaru declares that there is nothing to worry about as he will risk his life to protect Eikichi from the demons. Outside the classroom, a man gets told off by a teacher for smoking in the hallway. Later at the arcade, Eikichi scares off a group of students, who mistake him for Yagyo Atsuki. Meeting up with Tsukai and Ryuji, Eikichi surmises that he is being set up and Ryuji concludes that it might be Nakajo. However, Eikichi is confident that Nakajo would rather face him head on than do something like this. That night, Atsushi walks home alone and notices a man with the word "oni" carved onto his face. He is quickly surrounded by several zombie-like men dragging around human bodies, all with the same carvings. One of them men asks him if he has ever seen a demon and Atsushi runs off, scared for his life. The next day at school, Atsushi informs the gang about his encounter and Eikichi states that the prank has gone far enough. Eikichi spots a man smoking in the hallway and runs out, only to find he has disappeared. We cut to Nakajo, sipping on a drink in a restaurant. Later that day, Atsushi walks home with Tamaru and states that he is afraid to walk home alone after his weird encounter. Tamaru states that he will help Atsushi fight the demons if he wants and Atsushi calls him an amateur, saying that he would get himself killed if he keeps trying to act tough. Atsushi rushes off home and is attacked by a group of demons. Atsushi declares that he is with the Oni-baku and the demons welcome him to the demons of the night. |

Chapter 165: The City Where A Demon Lives" Eikichi and Ryuji arrive at school to find a large painted "oni" symbol outside their classroom. Mariko calls them into the teacher's staffroom and they are informed that Atsushi was beaten up badly last night and is now too scared to confess anything. Shimamura from the Juvenile Department tells them to not take matters into their own hands and to inform him if they find any information related to the attacks. Eikichi tells Yasuo and a surprised Tamaru about Atsushi's fate and declares that he will get to the bottom of this. Eikichi spots the smoking man in the hallway and confronts him, stating that he isn't a student from Tsujido High. The smoking man pushes Eikichi out of the way and jumps out the window, escpaing on his Honda CB 750. Ryuji recognises the bike and questions the man's relation to Yagyo Atsuki. Elsewhere, Atsushi's mother tells a bandaged Atsushi to stay in bed and to not hang around such people anymore. Atsushi pushes her out of the way, saying he knows who Yagyo Atsuki is and that he needs to warn his friends before it's too late. At school, Eikichi questions the smoking man's motive and Tamaru declares that he will take out Yagyo Atsuki so that Eikichi will recognise his toughness. Eikichi tells him to go home and not do anything stupid. They head off to Atsushi's place and meet a breathless Atsushi, but before his is able to reveal Yagyo Atsuki's identity, he is choked by a bike chain thrown from a rider on a white Kawasaki GPz 900R Ninja wearing a Simpson helmet. The rider drags Atsushi around as he spells out the word "oni" on the pavement before the chain snaps. They are interrupted by screams from Atsushi's mother, who demands the Oni-baku to never come near her son again. Eikichi declares that he will never rest until he makes the rider pay and the rider takes off. Elsewhere, Katsuyuki and Tamura fight over their nurse, Nene and the GPz 900R Ninja speeds past them. Tamura recognises the bike and states that it might be his imagination, saying that he can't have returned. |

Nakajo, Kashiya, Yasuo, Eikichi & Nagisa Chapter 166: "Home Sweet Home" The smoking man reports to Nakajo about Tsujido High. Nakajo states that his time has come and prepares to leave for Shonan. At Ryuji and Nagisa's bus, Eikichi fumes over the identity of the GPz 900R Ninja rider and Yasuo questions Tamaru's recent behaviour. Yasuo informs Eikichi, Ryuji and Tsukai that he followed Tamaru meeting the two bullies from before and witnessed the bullies being scared off by Tamaru. He surmises that Tamaru is a different person ever since his granddad died and is afraid that Tamaru might get caught by the demon. Eikichi reminds them that they are all targets, not just Tamaru. Later after everyone leaves, Ryuji heads out to buy condoms and Nagisa reminds him to be careful. As Nagisa waits for Ryuji, she starts hearing whispers outside the bus and starts getting freaked out. She hears the door open and turns around just in time to see a group of demons enter the bus. Elsewhere, Ryuji hears Nagisa's screams and rushes back. He finds Nagisa unharmed but the bus is trashed and the words "oni" painted on the walls. Ryuji comforts Nagisa and takes her to his sister Yoko's apartment. Ryuji rides off to exact revenge on Yagyo Atsuki and is surrounded by a group of demons on bikes lead by the GPz 900R Ninja rider. The demons push Ryuji over the rails and Ryuji falls off the side of the cliff. As the demons ride off, Ryuji declares that now he will never give up after what they've done. |

Ryuji & Masami Chapter 167: "The Demon's True Identity" A sleepy Masami wakes up to find a worn Ryuji, who asks Masami to fix up his bike. Ryuji borrows Masami's Kawasaki ZII monkey and continues his pursuit of the demons. He is watched by the smoking man and Nakajo, who declares that they pay a visit to Tsujido High. At school, Tsukai tells Eikichi that the smoking man's CB 750 and Nakajo's Nissan Fairlady Z was seen together and Eikichi confirms that Nakajo is Yagyo Atsuki. Sakaki laughs and declares that he is Yagyo Atsuki but he is ignored as the Oni-baku declares war on Enoshima High. The rush to the school gates to find the smoking man and Nakajo, who has come to settle things with Eikichi. They start exchanging blows, neither of them showing any signs of staying down. In class, Tamaru informs Tsukai and Makoto (who has been in hiding after calling Eikichi a dog) that Eikichi and Nakajo are fighting in the gym. Tsukai rushes off to find a dark and empty gym. He is attacked from behind by the GPz 900R Ninja rider. We cut back to Eikichi, who hears Makoto's screams and they rush to the gym to find a bloodied Tsukai hanging from the ceiling and the words "oni" painted on the walls. A confused Eikichi states that he thought Nakajo was the demon and Nakajo accuses Eikichi of being Yagyo Atsuki and has been attacking his Enoshima High gang. Realising that neither of them is Yagyo Atsuki, they question who is stupid enough to take both of them on. They are interrupted by Sakaki, who triumphantly declares that he is Yagyo Atsuki. They are interrupted by the GPz 900R Ninja rider, who rides into the gym. An angry Nakajo smashes through the rider's Simpson helmet, revealing a man with bandages covering his face and a surprised Nakajo states that it can't be Kamishima. |

Chapter 168: "The GPZ 900R Ninja" The GPz 900R Ninja rider takes off, leaving Eikichi and Nakajo wondering if the rider was Kamishima. The smoking man, Kashiya, surmises that it can't be Kamishima, but if it is, then the situation has gotten a lot more serious. Later, Kashiya meets up with his friends who ask about Shonan. Kashiya states that he will take things slow as they have plenty of time. At Tsujido High, the Oni-baku are greeting by Tamaru, who arrives at school riding a Honda X-JR 1200, stating that it was given to him by a friend. Yasuo and Saegusa marvel at Tamaru's bike and Tamaru provokes Yasuo by telling him to keep his hands off his bike. Eikichi reprimands Tamaru to be careful about the way he speaks to the Oni-baku and Tamaru say's that he's not the old Tamaru anymore. He declares that he will be the one to take down Yagyo Atsuki and rides off. Elsewhere, Ryuji confornts numerous students asking the wherebouts of Yagyo Atsuki and is interrupted by Tamaru, who asks to help Ryuji. Ryuji tells him to leave before he gets hurt and they spot a demon walking on the other side of the road. Ryuji warns Tamaru to leave and rushes after the demon, only to find that he has disappeared. He is attacked from behind from a group of demons. The noise is heard by Tamaru, who rushes to the scene to find Ryuji has beaten down all the demons. Ryuji interrogates the demons and Tamaru states that Ryuji is too soft. Tamaru grabs a bicycle and starts hitting the demons. Ryuji tells hime to stop and Tamaru accidentally pushes one of the demons over the ledge onto the road. As the cars narrowly miss the demon, Ryuji and Tamaru take off. Later, Ryuji angrily states that Tamaru has gone too far and Tamaru declares that Ryuji is just jealous that Tamaru will take Ryuji's place in the Oni-baku. They are watched from the shadows by Kashiya. |

Chapter 169: "In The Name Of Yagyo Atsuki" Ryuji informs Eikichi and the Oni-baku of Tamaru's behaviour and Eikichi tells the group to inform him as soon any of them sees Tamaru. Eikichi tells Tsukai that he still isn't convince that the GPz 900R Ninja rider is Kamishima as Kamishima would rather hit them head on. They spot Kashiya riding off and Ryuji gives chase, accusing him of spying. Kashiya lures Ryuji into a dark narrow alleyway and he is surrounded by a group of demons. Realising it was a trap, Ryuji declares that he isn't scared of the demons and attacks them head on as the GPz 900R Ninja rider watches. Ryuji is attacked from behind by a demon wielding a broken glass bottle and is saved from above by Tamaru, who states that he would take down Yagyo Atsuki as promised. Eikichi and the rest of the Oni-baku arrive, declaring to Kamishima that they are surrounded as Tamaru knocks the Simpson helmet off the GPz 900R Ninja rider. The GPz 900R Ninja rider takes off his bandages revealing his face, saying that he doesn't know any Kamishima to the Oni-baku's surprise. The GPz 900R Ninja rider states that he isn't the leader and that the Oni-baku won't be able to beat the leader and his army of demons. The demons start to retreat and Tamaru starts beating fallen demons, demanding for Yagyo Atsuki. Eikichi tells him to cut it out and Tamaru declares that he is tough and is able to take care of himself. He recieves a punch to the face from Ryuji, telling him that he is through with the Oni-baku and that they no longer want to see his face. Later that night, whilst riding home, Tamaru is surrounded by the GPz 900R Ninja rider and the demons. Tamaru takes out his blade and gives it to the GPz 900R Ninja rider, telling him to use the blade to kill Ryuji, in his name, which is the name of Yagyo Atsuki. |

Chapter 170: "Land Without A Legend" Ryuji picks up his newly fixed bike from Masami as the gang continue to ponder on Yagyo Atsuki's identity. Tsukai joking states that it must be Eikichi if it's neither Nakajo or Kamishima and Ryuji states he will catch Yagyo Atsuki regardless of who it is. The gang also questions Tamaru's absence over the past three days. At school, Ryuji notices Tamaru's empty desk and decides to visit him later, thinking he might have been too harsh on Tamaru. He gets a call to the office, to find Tamaru on the other end of the line begging for help. Another voice tells Ryuji to come to the mortar warehouse by the river alone if he ever wants to see Tamaru again. Ryuji rides off on his bike, telling Eikichi, Yasuo and Saegusa that he is needed at work but Eikichi notices the seriousness in Ryuji's face. They are approached by an unknown person, to Eikichi's surprise. Ryuji arrives at the warehouse and rushes towards a figure suspended on a rope, only to find a mannequin. He is attacked from behind by a demon and quickly takes him out. He is quickly surrounded by a group of demons, including the GPz 900R Ninja rider. He surmises that if he takes them all out, the one left standing is the leader and starts to knock the demons down, one by one. After taking a punch to the stomach by the GPz 900R Ninja rider, Ryuji knocks him down and yells for Tamaru. He spots Tamaru lying in the corner and rushes to his aid. Tamaru states that Ryuji is tougher than he thought and holds his blade to Ryuji's unsuspecting neck. A voice tells a surprised Ryuji to watch out and Tamaru narrowly misses Ryuji's neck. The voice is revealed to be Eikichi, who has arrived with a bandaged Atsushi, stating that Atsushi has told him the truth. Tamaru admits that he is Yagyo Atsuki and states that Eikichi told him to be strong. He tells the Oni-baku to witness his power and offers Eikichi to partner up with instead of Ryuji. Eikichi tells him not to be stupid and Tamaru states that if Eikichi won't team up with him, he'll make Eikichi serve him. Tamaru rides off with his demons, saying that he looks forward to their next meeting. |
